Standard Energy unveils vanadium-ion battery with 1% degradation

South Korea’s Standard Energy has developed a vanadium-ion battery that retains ~99% capacity after 20,000 deep‑discharge cycles—just 1% degradation—with a round-trip efficiency of 96%, using safe, non‑flammable aqueous electrolytes. They’ve already deployed 10 MWh domestically as they aim to expand into Japan and Europe.
